Significance of Annabhisehkam:

Annabhishekam is performed on the full moon day in the seventh month of every year  i.e. Aipasi (in Sauramana calendar) for Sri Siva in all Siva Temples in South India.  Laghunyasam, Sri Rudram and Chamakam are chanted during the Abhishekam. It is believed that Lord Siva bestows his blessings on His subjects with a great harvest that provides them with abundance of Annam (Rice), and anyone who witnesses Annabhishekam for Sri Siva will be relieved from difficulties and blessed with happiness and joy.
